An assistant to Charles Rangel, Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, was quoted in the press as saying the Democrats this year will attempt to reverse the expansion of health savings accounts passed last year. It is not clear if this would have widespread support in Congress. More. Last year. Rangel wrote that "HSAs, like IRAs, offer greater tax advantages to high-income people who are more likely to have the disposable income to deposit into the account."
